In 1923, President Warren G. Harding and his wife, Florence, visited Oregon’s Blue Mountain Country to dedicate a portion of the Old Oregon Trail. At the ceremony, leaders of the Cayuse and Umatilla Nations honored Mrs. Harding by presenting her with a newly designed blanket. This special blanket was crafted to reflect the First Lady’s sincerity and forthright nature, capturing her spirit in its intricate patterns. Today, this design remains one of the most sought-after patterns produced by Pendleton Woolen Mills. Design © Pendleton Woolen Mills, Inc. Made in the USA.
