The only mammals that truly fly, bats are more maneuverable than birds. Their wings are a thin membrane that covers their very long, spread-out digits. They are among the most vocal of mammals and produce calls to attract mates, find roost partners, and defend resources. These calls are typically low-frequency and can travel long distance.
